High scores no one wants to see: Delhi's air quality turns severe

IndiaTimes Friday, 1 December 2023
Delhi's air quality worsened to near-severe levels, with pollution levels rising throughout the day. The average AQI on Thursday was 398, higher than the previous day. Both PM2.5 and PM10 levels increased significantly, indicating pollution from local sources such as vehicles and dust. The city's AQI is expected to remain 'very poor' according to forecasts. Measures to restrict construction, ban certain vehicles and control pollution will be considered after monitoring the situation. Weather conditions with high moisture and mist are trapping pollutants, making the situation worse. The number of stubble burning incidents has decreased significantly in Punjab, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh.
