IndiaTimes Sunday, 3 December 2023
Heavy rains and squally winds are expected to intensify over south coastal Andhra Pradesh, including the south Andhra Pradesh coast, particularly between Nellore and Machilipatnam, as the depression in the Bay of Bengal evolves into a cyclonic storm. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning for heavy to extremely heavy rainfall in the region until December 6. The cyclonic storm is projected to reach the west central Bay of Bengal off the south Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu coast by Monday. Squally winds of 80-90 kmph may cause damage to crops and properties.
