Lawngtlai East assembly election result 2023: ZPM's Dr. Lorrain Lalpekliana Chinzah replaces MNF’s H. Biakzaua by 2101 votes
Monday, 4 December 2023 This Mizoram assembly constituency witnessed a significant political battle, with the incumbent H. Biakzaua of the Mizo National Front (MNF) facing tough competition. However, ZPM emerged victorious, defeating both MNF's H. Biakzaua and H. Zothangliana of the Indian National Congress (INC) in the Lawngtlai East (ST) Assembly Elections 2023.
ZPM secured around 40%, MNF less than 35%, and Congress over 20% of the total votes. BJP led in three seats with 4.26% vote share. ZPM anticipates a sweeping victory in the northeast state, with EC declaring two wins and leading in 27 seats.

Polling in 102 parliamentary seats across 21 states and Union Territories in the first phase of Lok Sabha Elections commenced at 7 am on April 19 and ended at 6 pm. Over 102 parliamentary constituencies in 21 states and union territories headed to the polling booth on Friday, including Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Rajasthan, Sikkim, Tamil Nadu, Tripura, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, West Bengal, Jammu and Kashmir, Puducherry, Lakshadweep, and Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
