Woman sues e-tailer for selling overpriced shampoo, wins Rs 20,000

IndiaTimes Wednesday, 6 December 2023
A Bengaluru woman sued Flipkart for selling her shampoo above its MRP during the Big Billion Days sale. The consumer court ordered Flipkart to pay her Rs 20,000 in compensation and refund Rs 96 collected in excess. The woman approached the court after noticing that the MRP printed on the bottle was lower than the amount she paid. Flipkart's defence was deemed untenable. The court also ordered Flipkart to pay Rs 10,000 for service deficiency and Rs 5,000 for unfair trade practice.
