In 2nd big haul, Mumbai cops seize 175kg MD worth Rs 218 crore

The Khopoli unit of Raigad police has seized over 175kg of mephedrone (MD) drug worth Rs 218 crore from a godown in Hanor village. This is the second big seizure after MD weighing over 85kg worth Rs 107 crore was seized last Thursday. So far, 260kg of MD collectively worth Rs 325 crore has been seized. The drugs have been exported to various countries through the Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority, Nhava Sheva, Uran taluka. The police have booked Kamal Jaiswani, Matin Shaikh, and Anthony Kurukutikaran under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act-1985.
