Russia's failed moon mission cost it Rs 16K crore, our Chandrayaan-3 cost us Rs 600 crore: Space minister

India's space minister, Jitendra Singh, highlighted the cost-effectiveness of India's space missions compared to the Russian lunar mission Luna-25. He revealed that the unsuccessful Russian mission cost Rs 16,000 crore, while India's successful lunar mission Chandrayaan-3 cost only around Rs 600 crore. Singh emphasized that India's space program relies more on cerebral resources and skills than material resources. He also mentioned that India's space economy is projected to multiply manifold by 2040, with the potential of reaching $100 billion. Additionally, Singh noted the increasing number of space startups in India and the significant role of women in leading space projects.
