Telangana BJP MLAs, who had boycotted Akbaruddin Owaisi as pro tem speaker, take oath
Eight BJP MLAs in Telangana took oath under new speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar after refusing to do so under pro tem speaker Akbaruddin Owaisi. The BJP alleged that Owaisi's appointment violated rules and submitted a representation to the governor. The BJP had alleged that the Congress government in the state wilfully violated norms to pander to certain sections of the people in pursuit of appeasement politics. The MLAs took oath today after Congress's Gaddam Prasad assumed the position.
