Congress to launch crowdfunding drive for 2024 polls war chest

Cash-strapped Congress to launch 'Donate for Desh' crowdfunding campaign ahead of 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Party aims to generate resources by appealing to adult Indians to donate minimum of Rs 138 or multiples of the amount. Inspired by Mahatma Gandhi's 'Tilak Swaraj Fund' launched in 1920-21. Campaign will be launched by Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge. State offices directed to raise awareness about the campaign. Rally planned in Nagpur on December 28 to mark party's 138th anniversary with at least 10 lakh attendees.
