Chhattisgarh: Ramvichar Netam sworn in as Pro-tem speaker

Ramvichar Netam, a senior tribal leader and former minister, was sworn in as the Pro-tem Speaker of the Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly. The oath ceremony took place at the Raj Bhawan in the presence of the Governor, Chief Minister, and Deputy Chief Ministers. Netam, who won the assembly elections from the Ramanujganj seat, has previously served as a minister in the BJP government. He took the oath in the local Chhattisgarhi dialect. A Pro-tem Speaker is a temporary appointee responsible for conducting the House's business in the absence of the regular Speaker.
