PM-face of INDIA bloc after polls: West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee
Monday, 18 December 2023 West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee stated that the INDIA bloc will select its PM candidate based on the number of seats each ally wins in the Lok Sabha elections. She acknowledged that seat-sharing agreements would be challenging but could be worked out with a formula if agreed upon. Banerjee emphasized the importance of projecting a PM face after the polls and cited examples of Deve Gowda and Gujaral. She also accused the government of withholding GST dues and undermining the federal structure.
