IndiaTimes Tuesday, 19 December 2023
The BJP's Parliamentary Party meeting commenced with the arrival of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The meeting holds special significance as the opposition bloc is also scheduled for discussions. The suspension of 78 opposition MPs on Monday, coupled with the 13 members removed earlier, was in response to disruptions and a demand for a statement from Union Home Minister Amit Shah over the Parliament security breach incident. The total number of suspended MPs reached 92, with 34 opposition Rajya Sabha MPs remaining suspended for the rest of the Winter Session.

LS Polls 2024: Congress manifesto launch | Priyanka Gandhi, Kharge slam BJP, Modi | Oneindia News

Top Congress leaders, including the party president Mallikarjun Kharge, former president Sonia Gandhi, held a rally in Jaipur on Saturday, April 6, to publicly launch its election manifesto 'Nyay Patra'. The Jaipur public rally comes a day after the Congress released its manifesto for the 2024 Lok Sabha polls promising a legal guarantee for MSP, and passing a constitutional amendment to raise the 50 per cent cap on reservations for SCs, STs and OBCs among others. The release of the manifesto 'Nyay Patra' was announced by Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, expressing happiness and pride in her mother Sonia Gandhi's presence in Rajasthan after becoming a member of the Rajya Sabha. Unemployment, claimed to be at its peak, was criticised, with allegations made against the BJP and Modi government for failing to address the issue adequately. The Agniveer scheme, accused of shattering people's hopes, was mentioned, along with concerns raised about leaked papers in various states and the ongoing protests by farmers, suggesting that PM Modi is unwilling to heed their grievances.
