J&K terrorist-initiated incidents plunge 81% post article 370 abrogation: Home ministry

Terrorist-initiated incidents and encounters in J&K significantly declined after the abrogation of Article 370. The number of incidents fell by 81% from 228 in 2018 to 43 in 2023, while encounters witnessed a 74% decline from 189 to 48. Civilian killings also decreased from 55 to 13, and fatalities among security forces decreased from 91 to 25. Additionally, a total of Rs 5319 crore has been invested in ventures across J&K since 2019, with increasing investments each year.
