France submits bid for 26 Rafale-Marine fighter jets and associated equipment. Letter of acceptance (LoA) with offer, pricing, and other details submitted in response to India's letter of request (LoA). Proposed acquisition includes 22 single-seat jets and four twin-seat trainers, along with weapons, simulator, spares, crew training, and logistics support. Deals for 26 fighters and three additional Scorpene submarines granted preliminary approval. Final cost negotiations and approval from cabinet committee on security required. Navy aims to finalize deals within this fiscal to address inadequate number of fighters and depleting underwater combat fleet.
