Opposition MPs asked to be suspended: Union minister Pralhad Joshi

IndiaTimes Friday, 22 December 2023
A day after Parliament’s winter session was adjourned sine die, Union minister Pralhad Joshi launched a scathing attack on opposition leaders over the suspension of MPs from both Houses of Parliament and said they themselves asked to be suspended. Addressing a press briefing, Joshi said 19 bills, including Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam were passed by Parliament. While these bills were passed, 146 MPs were suspended over the ruckus demanding a statement from home minister Amit Shah on the Parliament security breach.
