Rajnath Singh, the defence minister, visited the Rajouri-Poonch region to review the security situation after a recent terrorist ambush. Singh urged troops to avoid mistakes that may harm civilians and emphasized the importance of winning the hearts of people. He met with injured soldiers and the families of deceased civilians and assured them of justice. Army plans to increase troop numbers in the Poonch-Rajouri sector. Additionally, a change in command is expected in the 16 Corps
