Kejriwal skips ED summons 3rd time, calls it motivated
Wednesday, 3 January 2024 Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal skipped his appearance before the agency for the third time on Wednesday in connection with the investigation into the excise policy case. He cited his preoccupation with the Rajya Sabha elections in the national capital and his busy schedule overseeing preparations for Republic Day. "Similar notices without any specific details have been held illegal and quashed by courts," he said while asking the agency to send him a questionnaire if it required any information/documents.
Arvind Kejriwal, leader of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), outlined ten promises during a press conference, including free electricity, education, and healthcare, along with the creation of two crore jobs within a year. He also pledged full independence to the Indian Army to reclaim territory from China. Kejriwal emphasised that these guarantees would be implemented if the INDIA bloc wins power in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Additionally, he reiterated his commitment to granting full statehood to Delhi and indicated that the Agniveer scheme would be scrapped if the opposition alliance wins.
