Under strict security arrangements, the cleaning of the Gyanvapi Mosque's Wazukhana area began. The Supreme Court allowed the cleaning of the entire 'wazukhana' area, where a Shivling was found, on the petition of Hindu women. The water tank in the Gyanvapi Mosque, which contains a sacred Shivlingam, has dead fish and emits a putrid smell.
