Government-funded minority institutes can't impart religious education: SC

Supreme Court rules that no government-funded minority institution can provide religious teaching. Even partially funded institutions cannot enforce compulsory religious teaching. Rs 30 lakh reserve fund created by multiple communities does not establish minority status for Aligarh Muslim University. AMU receives Rs 1,570 crore grants annually and is an eminent university.
