14.1 lakh new cancer cases, 9.1 lakh deaths in India: WHO
Friday, 2 February 2024 In 2022, India had over 14.1 lakh new cancer cases and breast cancer was the most common. The World Health Organization (WHO) estimates that globally there were 2 crore new cancer cases and 97 lakh deaths. The WHO Cervical Cancer Elimination Initiative aims to eliminate cervical cancer by 2030 through vaccination, screening, and treatment.
