Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, in a farewell speech to retiring members of the Rajya Sabha, shared anecdotes about his friendship with Janata Dal (Secular) leader HD Deve Gowda. He also praised the achievements of the previous Manmohan Singh government during its 10-year tenure. Kharge advocated for a meticulous examination of bills by parliamentary panels, including standing committees and joint parliamentary committees.
