Give regular soldiers’ benefits to kin of Agniveers who die in line of duty: Panel

A parliamentary subcommittee made the recommendation on Thursday that the families of Agniveers who pass away while serving in the military should receive the same benefits as the relatives of "regular" troops. In a report presented to Parliament, the parliamentary standing committee on defence recommended that the government think about augmenting the ex gratia awarded to the families of troops killed in action by Rs 10 lakh.
