SC notice to govt on Coast Guard pilot's plea seeking permanent commission

Priyanka Tyagi, a 14-year Indian Coast Guard (ICG) pilot and short service appointment (SSA) officer in the rank of assistant commandant, saved over 300 lives at sea, logged 4,500 flying hours - the most among men and women in the armed forces - and was part of the first all-female crew on a Dornier aircraft to conduct maritime patrolling in the eastern region in 2016.
