NIA court frames charges against 9 for beheading Rajasthan tailor
Tuesday, 13 February 2024 A special NIA court in Jaipur on Tuesday framed charges against nine accused in the beheading of Udaipur tailor Kanhaiya Lal. Two cleaver wielding men, Gaus Mohammad and Mohammad Riyaz, had entered Kanhaiya Lal's shop masquerading as customers and hacked him to death on June 22, 2022, for a social media post supporting suspended BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma's comments on Prophet Mohammad. They also shot a video of the ghastly act and posted it online.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) apprehended two suspects - Mussavir Hussain Shazib and Abdul Matheen Taha - in connection with Bengaluru's Rameswaram Cafe blast case on Friday. The two were nabbed near West Bengal's Kolkata. Mussavir Hussain Shazib has been identified as the alleged "mastermind" behind the low-intensity blast that occurred at a prominent eatery in Bengaluru on March 1. Shazib is accused of placing the improvised explosive device (IED) at the cafe. Additionally, Abdul Matheen Taha is implicated as a co-conspirator in the incident. Both Taha and Shazib hail from Thirthahalli in Shivamogga district, according to statements from the National Investigation Agency (NIA).
