PM Modi emphasized the government's efforts to improve conditions for the common citizens without resorting to subsidies. He highlighted the strides taken in the past decade to enhance the welfare of the people. “I could have collected applause by offering goodies, but I chose the tougher road because that is the one which leads to the building of a stable, capable and prosperous India,” Modi said.
