Will apply under CAA to debunk TMC claims: Union minister Shantanu Thakur

Facing unrest in Matua-dominated areas of Bengal over the CAA's schedule 1A requirement for Bangladeshi documents, Union Minister Shantanu Thakur, also Bongaon MP, plans to seek citizenship under the CAA to counter alleged misinformation by the TMC. Thakur's announcement on Saturday follows recent protests in Nadia's Chakdah and threats of further demonstrations by the Sara Bharat Matua Mahasangha in Malda.
