The Indian community with a strength of around 1 million is the largest expatriate community in Kuwait and is regarded as the community of first preference among the expatriate communities, according to Indian Embassy in Kuwait.
Kuwait's Emir Sheikh Mishal al-Ahmad al-Sabah dissolved parliament, assuming its responsibilities and suspending specific constitutional articles for up to four years. In a candid address, he highlighted rampant corruption within state institutions and emphasised the urgency of addressing pervasive challenges. This decision follows the first elections under his leadership, amid persistent conflicts between the National Assembly and the cabinet, hindering reforms to reduce oil dependency.
