Storms hit US: Thousands of flight canceled, over 1m lose power
Tuesday, 8 August 2023 Severe storms caused widespread power outages and numerous flight cancellations and delays in the eastern United States. The storms brought hazardous conditions, including potential tornadoes, hail, and lightning, prompting the National Weather Service to issue a tornado watch and flood warning. Over 1.1 million homes and businesses lost power across several states and more than 2000 flights were canceled with over 7,000 delayed.
