Libya has formally requested that Lebanon release Hannibal Gadhafi, one of Moammar Gadhafi's sons, who has been held without charges since 2015. Hannibal's deteriorating health, worsened by a hunger strike to protest the detention without trial, is the reason for the request. Libya's note to the Lebanese made a connection between Gadhafi's release and the revelation of Moussa al-Sadr's whereabouts in Libya.
