Texas moves large floating barrier on US-Mexico border closer to American soil

IndiaTimes Tuesday, 22 August 2023
Texas has repositioned a floating barrier on the U.S.-Mexico border amid protests from the Biden administration and Mexico. The bright-orange buoys, authorized by Governor Greg Abbott, are intended to prevent migrants from entering the country. The Justice Department sued the state, arguing that the barrier could harm relations with Mexico and pose humanitarian and environmental risks. A hearing on the matter is scheduled for Tuesday.
