Now, Pakistan unable to pay salaries to overseas officials amid severe dollar crunch

The Pakistani government is reportedly unable to pay salaries to staff at certain diplomatic missions for the past three months due to a dollar liquidity crunch. Press attaches and press counsellors in the US, Hong Kong, and Singapore have been surviving without salaries since June. The finance ministry has stated that salaries for September cannot be released as foreign exchange limits have been exhausted.
