Canada House speaker apologizes for recognition of veteran who fought for Nazis

The speaker of Canada's House of Commons, Anthony Rota, has apologized for praising a 98-year-old man at a parliamentary meeting who served in a Nazi unit during World War II. Rota had recognized Yaroslav Hunka as a "Ukrainian hero" but later realized his mistake and issued a statement expressing his regret and offering his "deepest apologies" to Jewish communities.
