US Senator Bob Menendez and his wife, Nadine Arslanian Menendez, are facing scrutiny over a 2018 car accident. Nadine was driving a Mercedes and struck and killed a man named Richard Koop, who was jaywalking at the time. An investigation found Nadine not at fault, as Koop was jaywalking and not using a marked crosswalk. Dashcam footage showed a retired police officer assisting Nadine, who was later revealed to have received a car as part of an alleged bribe.
