UK supports Israel's right to 'proportionate action' to end violence
Monday, 9 October 2023 The UK supports Israel's right to use proportionate action to end violence, according to Prime Minister Rishi Sunak's spokesman. They stated that Israel can exercise self-defense within international laws. There are no current plans to deploy British military assets, but there is a warship in the Mediterranean and an air force base in Cyprus. The UK Foreign Office is working with Israeli authorities to determine the status of British nationals in the area.
