China claims to have spotted US aircraft flying over Taiwan Strait

The Chinese army has claimed to have monitored a US Navy P-8A aircraft's transit in the Taiwan Strait. The People's Liberation Army (PLA) stated that they remain on high alert to protect national sovereignty and regional peace. This comes as US President Joe Biden expressed the possibility of meeting Chinese President Xi Jinping during the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation forum in November.
