Audio recordings of 911 calls made during the deadly August wildfire in Lahaina, Maui, have been released by Maui County authorities. The calls depict a terrifying scene as people desperately tried to escape the inferno, with drivers trapped in gridlocked traffic and surrounded by flames. The wildfire, fueled by powerful winds from a passing hurricane, resulted in the deaths of at least 98 people and the destruction of more than 2,000 structures.
