Israeli attack on Syrian Aleppo airport puts it out of service

On a Saturday, Israel conducted an airstrike on Syria's Aleppo Airport, rendering it inoperative, according to the Syrian defense ministry. The attack was reportedly launched from the Mediterranean Sea direction, west of Latakia. The aim of these attacks is believed to be the disruption of Iranian supply routes to Syria, where Iranian influence has increased due to its support for President Bashar al-Assad during the ongoing civil war since 2011.
