27 Indian fishermen held for alleged poaching in Sri Lanka's territorial waters

Twenty-seven Indian fishermen have been arrested by the Sri Lankan Navy for alleged poaching in Sri Lanka's territorial waters. The arrests took place off the coast of Mannar, Delft, and Kachchativu islets. In addition to the fishermen, two Indian trawlers with 15 fishermen were held near Mannar, and three trawlers with 12 fishermen were apprehended near Delft and Kachchativu islands. The fishermen have been handed over to the authorities for further legal action.
