'Drop in the ocean': UN-backed aid could soon enter Gaza, but only at a trickle for now
Friday, 20 October 2023 President Joe Biden has reached an agreement with the Egyptian president to allow 20 trucks of humanitarian aid to enter Gaza. The aid, which includes medical supplies and food, will be overseen by the United Nations and Red Crescent Societies. The trucks will enter through the Rafah Crossing on Egypt's border with Gaza, and UN observers will inspect the aid before it enters Gaza.
