The chief minister of Penang, Malaysia, Chow Kon Yeow, attended a commemorative event for Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, marking the 80th anniversary of the provisional government and INA Raising Day. He expressed pride that Netaji had chosen Malaysia as a base to organize Indians against British colonial rule. In Bangkok, the Netaji Subhash Vision Thailand organization celebrated the anniversary with a 3-day "Netaji Pilgrimage" for academics and Indo-Thai citizens connected to Bose's historical visits to Thailand. The first-ever INA training camp was built in Chonburi, Thailand, where Indian migrant families supported Netaji's cause.
