Kenya court extends pause on Haiti deployment

IndiaTimes Tuesday, 24 October 2023
A Kenyan court has extended an order preventing the government from sending police officers to Haiti as part of a UN-backed mission. The order came after the UN warned that security in Haiti has further deteriorated, with major crimes reaching "record highs". The court granted the injunction in response to a case brought by opposition politician Ekuru Aukot, who argued that the deployment was unconstitutional. The court will hear the case from November 9.
