Turkey's Erdogan calls for Gaza's incorporation into an independent Palestinian state
Saturday, 4 November 2023 Turkish President Erdogan reaffirmed his support for an independent Palestinian state that includes Gaza, following the Israel-Hamas conflict. Turkey has been critical of Israel and supports a two-state solution. Erdogan stated that Turkey will not support any plans that erase Palestinians from history, and called for an immediate ceasefire. He also mentioned his intelligence chief's contact with Israeli and Palestinian authorities as well as Hamas, but no longer considers Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu as a counterpart.
