Anti-Jewish hate crimes surged 214% in October in New York City: NYPD

IndiaTimes Friday, 10 November 2023
Bias incidents against Jews in New York City surged in October, with 69 anti-Jewish incidents investigated by the NYPD, more than triple the number from the previous year. The city's Jewish community has been rattled by antisemitic events, including assaults, harassment, and swastikas etched on storefronts. The increase in incidents follows the October 7 Hamas attack on Israel and the Jewish nation's response, which has sparked protests in the New York metro area. Measures are being taken by universities and the government to address antisemitism and ensure safety.
