China proposes cybersecurity check for auditors if national security involved

China's finance ministry has proposed new measures that require auditors to undergo additional cybersecurity checks when their work involves national security. The measures also outline how accounting firms should manage data related to Chinese firms. The rules apply to auditors hired by domestic firms or conducting cross-border work, with the chief partner of an auditing firm being responsible for data security.
