Hikers get lost in Canada after taking a nonexistent trail on Google Maps

IndiaTimes Monday, 13 November 2023
A search-and-rescue group in British Columbia recommends using a paper map and compass instead of relying on street map programs. This advice comes after two hikers had to be rescued because they followed a non-existent trail on Google Maps. The group, North Shore Rescue, deployed a helicopter and rope rescue team to help a stranded hiker in a steep area with cliffs. In a separate incident, Secret Service agents protecting President Joe Biden's granddaughter opened fire on three people attempting to break into an unmarked vehicle in Washington, D.C. No one was injured.
