Red Cross chief to meet families of hostages held by Hamas
Tuesday, 14 November 2023 The head of the Red Cross will meet with the families of the hostages held in Gaza following Hamas's attack in Israel last month. The meeting will take place in Geneva and will also include Israeli foreign minister Eli Cohen and health minister Uriel Menachem Buso. The Red Cross is advocating for the release of the hostages and is working to gain safe access to them. They are also requesting information on the hostages' health and working to clarify the fates of those who are unaccounted for.
More than 240 hostages are still believed to be held by Hamas. Families of some of the hostages have travelled to Brussels to ask EU lawmakers to help secure the release of their loved ones.
