South African 'Blade Runner' Pistorius seeks parole a decade after killing girlfriend

Former South African Paralympic star Oscar Pistorius, who was jailed for killing his girlfriend, is seeking an early release at parole. In 2013, he killed his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp, and was jailed a year later. Initially, he was jailed for five years in 2014 but the Supreme Court of Appeal in late 2015 found him guilty of murder. In 2016 he was sentenced to 6 years in prison but in 2017 that became 13 years and five months.
