Harvard antisemitism adviser quits after university head’s ‘painful’ hearing
Friday, 8 December 2023
Rabbi David Wolpe resigned from Harvard University's antisemitism advisory committee due to concerns over rising antisemitism on campus. Wolpe, a visiting scholar at Harvard Divinity School, cited events on campus and President Claudine Gay's inadequate testimony at a congressional hearing as reasons for his decision. Wolpe emphasized the importance of acknowledging the Jewish experience and criticized the narrow legal responses from Gay and other university leaders regarding the issue of calling for the genocide of Jews.
