Imran Khan gets bail in cipher case, but will stay in jail

IndiaTimes Saturday, 23 December 2023
Pakistan's Supreme Court on Friday granted post-arrest bails to jailed former PM Imran Khan and ex-foreign minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi in a cipher case linked to the alleged leaking of state secrets. The bails were granted against surety bonds of 1 million Pakistani rupees (around $3,650) each. While Qureshi's release from jail seems imminent, Imran appears to have to stay behind bars as he is currently on judicial remand in a £190 million corruption case related to a land scam.
