Displaced Palestinians flood a southern Gaza town as Israel expands its offensive in the center
Friday, 29 December 2023 Israel's air and ground offensive against Hamas has displaced 85% of Gaza Strip residents, leaving Palestinians with a sense that nowhere is safe. Israel's campaign is focused on central Gaza, including the urban refugee camps of Bureij, Nuseirat, and Maghazi. The war has killed over 21,300 Palestinians, sparked a humanitarian crisis, and left a quarter of Gaza's population starving. Israel has vowed to dismantle Hamas and bring back over 100 hostages.
