Centre-right's Alexander Stubb wins close-fought Finnish presidential election

Alexander Stubb, the newly elected president of Finland, will replace retiring President Sauli Niinisto. He is pro-European and a strong supporter of Ukraine. Stubb will play a central role in defining Finland's Nato policies and will have overall foreign and security policy responsibilities. Finland joined Nato due to Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
